Every year for the last three years, I set myself a goal for the amount of books I want to read. Not that the amount matters one bit, but because it creates a mental note for myself that I keep reading actively. This year, I’ve set my target at 30 books, and have already finished the first two.

The first one I finished, All the light we cannot see, by Anthony Doerr, comes as an absolute recommendation, and unexpectedly hit me very hard. It’s not often I’ve read a book that’s so brilliantly written, with the pacing and storylines balancing so perfectly. Couldn’t turn the last 200 pages down.
@thijs Test reply.
@thijs I really enjoyed that one too. It’s a great read.
@mooch did you read any of his other books? I’ve put a few on my to read list, hope they’re as well written
@thijs I haven’t. Not sure why. I probably should!
@mooch started Cloud Cuckoo Land just now. Only 60 pages in, but style and storylines again very promising
@thijs Good to know! I’ll add it to my TBR pile.
